I consider our profession to offer some of the most amazing experiences. Our job takes us into numerous areas and we get to meet so many people that we wouldn’t otherwise.

This summer, we were working in Edgewood, BC and had the opportunity to visit an ostrich farm. Such amazing birds; they towered over me! I could have spent hours watching them. I did not see one with his/her head in the sand. The owner informed us of the many uses of the ostrich from feathers, to meat, to eggs, to oil; not to forget the valued ostrich leather. An egg is equivalent to two dozen eggs and are sought after by many artists.

Babies can grow a foot a month until it is 7-8 months old. They can live from 50-75 years. Below are some of the fluffy cuties. They already need a long pen to run.
