The Kootenay/Boundary provides an abundance of architectural styles.  Thus, I thought I should have an area on my website devoted to those who appreciate Kootenay/Boundary Architecture.

If you snap a picture of a building that you are fond of, submit it to us along with a brief history or story of it and we will post it. In appreciation, Keystone Appraisals will buy you a coffee for two in your community. Please click here to see our new page devoted to Kootenay/Boundary Architecture.

Last week, Rob and I were coming back from Vancouver from meetings and stopped in Greenwood for lunch. We couldn’t help but marvel at some of the buildings.

Below are a few pictures of our stop in Greenwood:
Copper St. (Main St. aka Hwy #3) Greenwood

The Trans Canada Trail, the original bed of The Columbia & Western Railway, also runs by Greenwood. Note the flags of the world painted on the uncovered CPR tunnel near the entrance to town. The flags were painted to discourage graffiti.

Next time you are going through Greenwood – stop for lunch. There are some great places to eat, some wonderful architecture both on and off Main Street and some lovely places to walk and stretch your legs!
