Kootenay Savings Credit Union gives so much back to the community and Keystone Appraisals would like to take a moment to say "thank you!"

I must admit that I am a member of the Credit Union and am pleased with the services and benefits they provide. However, they are more than just a place where I do business. I am also a member as they are focused on the community and I am appreciative of their contributions and dedication to it.

Below is a partial list of their numerous contributions and support that help make our communities a better place to live, play, work and raise our children:

• Signature sponsor of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Heliport.
• The Kid’s Community Calendar which brings a smile to our faces every day.
• Family Movie Night in the Park in Kimberley, Trail and Nakusp.
• Donation to the Brilliant Suspension Bridge ($20,000).
• “Care Wear” Program; each year the funds raised are donated. Each branch and office location chooses where and how the funds will be donated. In 2009, $26,000 was donated to local groups and charities.
• Member and Employee Donations to Haitian Relief Efforts.
• Support and gifting to local Community Foundations and communities:
• Columbia Valley Community Foundation (Invermere/Radium areas)
• North Kootenay Lake Community Fund (Kaslo area)
• Kimberley & District Community Foundation
• Nakusp & Area Community Foundation
• LeRoi Foundation (Greater Trail area)
• And for the communities of Castlegar, Salmo, South Slocan and New Denver that do not have Community Foundations in place.

In August 2010, Kootenay Savings was recognized as one of North America’s “50 Most Engaged Workplaces Award”. They were judged on eight elements: Communication, Leadership, Culture, Rewards & Recognition, Professional & Personal Growth, Accountability & Performance, Vision & Values and Corporate Social Responsibility.
